Kellie Paris is a native of Dallas and a proud product of the Dallas Independent School District where she attended Adelle Turner, W.H. Atwell, and David W. Carter. She earned an undergraduate degree from Texas Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

She has served in DISD for 25 years as a Teacher, Dean of Instruction, and Principal of Harrell Budd, W.W. Bushman, Julian Saldivar and currently Charles Rice. She also served in education internationally in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for 9 years as a Principal, Cluster Manager and Curriculum Coordinator, afterwards returning home again to DISD. Her love of education has allowed her to learn from knowledgeable andexperienced educators from all over the world.

She has had great success in not only moving schools from Low Performing to High Performing but also in improving culture, climate and parent and community involvement. Under her leadership Charles Rice received a state rating of B; State of Texas Gold Ribbon for Children at Risk; Top 20% Campus Climate and Culture; STAAR Distinctions for Academic Achievement in Reading, Math and Postsecondary Readiness; Top 25% Comparative Growth and Closing the Gaps. In addition to academic success, her students participate in many extra-curricular activities and competitions and are 1st place champions in Elementary Track & Field and girls’ and boys’ elementary basketball.

Furthermore, she has effectively implemented positive changes in schools where there was adverse staff in terms of culture and heritage and with varying degrees of knowledge and experience. She inspires students and teachers to reach their highest potential and always includes stakeholders in  the overall success of the school.
